Camelback Mountain
Camelback is a great mountain for skiers looking to graduate to the intermediate level. There are lots of green trails and some blues that are a good next step without being overwhelming. Camelback has night skiing which you should definitely take advantage off. The trails are well lit and the Cameltop bar and restaurant at the top of the high-speed lift is open right up until the trails close for the night.
Nine Mile – This trail is wide and has these great sweeping turns. What makes it an Orange Triangle is the variation in steepness on each turn. If you want a steeper drop take the turn tight or if you’d rather reduce speed or start again slower, you can stay on the outside of every turn. I felt my skills improve through the day and night by taking repeated runs on this gaining confidence each time and cutting further inside. Even the very skilled members of our group loved running this again and again. As with any east coast mountain, watch out for some adventurous beginner skiers stopping in the turns to see what’s next.
Upper Cleopatra - Not a long trail but an alternative to taking Mark Anthony or Honeymoon down from the top again. And it’s a good test of your bravery in advancing out of begin a beginner skier. Upper Cleopatra is an Orange Triangle because its not steep at all, but it’s a “blue” because its narrow and the downslope edge has quite a drop if you miss one of your right turns. But you’re here because you can turn both directions just fine as long as you are in control of your speed so you will have fun with this secluded little cut through.
